How we protect your data
In setting up, upgrading or developing custom software, computer systems for a public industry, the regulating body HIPAA (for Health) and it’s requirements for the US market, which is covered in Australia by the Privacy Act (1988), will need to be met. Also ISO 27001 (Information Security) will need to be taken into account where sensitive data is being stored and accessed.
All data for a project is to be password protected and data files stored in a contemporary encryption algorithm that takes ISO 27001 into account. Only LITS’ staff can access the data and it is not be to shared with contractors unless the client permits to or has to be done by law.
What data breach procedures we have in place
According to the Privacy Amendment (Notifiable Data Breaches), in Australia, where Logan Info Tech Services operates, any data breach that puts users and/or clients in potential harm, the users and/or clients affected need to be notified. If any data breach takes place that can harm the privacy of the users, they will be informed quickly. Compliance with the Privacy Act 1988 is taken into account in the trading of Logan IT Services.
Logan Info Tech Services needs to Contain, Assess, Notify and Review, in that order, when a data breach takes place.
