Creating Apps, Programs and Software for Your Business Idea

Have you ever wanted to create your own apps (applications) for your business? Do you have an idea for a software application that will make things easier, more reliable and quicker for your business and/or customers? If your business earns less than one million dollars a year, you may be able to download and use the official Microsoft application development suite (Visual Studio Community Edition 2019) required to create applications that run on phones, tablets, computers and web browsers. Apps can be designed visually, but in order to customise and create highly functional apps, you need to learn a programming language, which is used to instruct the computer on how to handle input (mouse, keyboard, finger taps, GPS etc.) and output (sound, screen etc.). We at Logan IT Services recommend C# (pronounced C Sharp), which looks to be the forth most currently used computer language in the world in online surveys. It provides a range of functionality and has cross platform support.

Once downloaded and running the installer for Visual Studio Community 2019 on your Windows computer, select the types of applications you want to create in the visual studio installer (we suggest using the default setting to start), you should be ready to create a basic app after you launch Visual Studio once installed. We at Logan IT Services would recommend creating a basic Console application first, to get a handle how programming works. Computers tend to take things literally, and steps need to be made to tell the computer or phone how to process data, called an Algorithm. We recommend searching C# tutorials in a search engine and learn a bit each week. The first step will be to create a “Hello World” application. An alternative is to get in touch with Logan IT Services to create the app for you quickly with over seven years experience in software development if you are too busy to learn at this stage.
